When Life Hits Hard, It's Not Always Punishment (Inspired by Psalm 90:7)

Sometimes life hits you so hard, it feels personal, like the universe is punishing you. Maybe it's an unexpected breakup, losing a job, or getting blindsided by someone you trusted. But not every storm is punishment. Some are just part of the process.

It's easy to think, "What did I do to deserve this?"

But the truth is, life doesn't only break people who've done wrong. Sometimes, bad things happen simply because they're part of the unpredictable, messy human experience. It's not always punishment,it's just life. And you will get through it.

Sometimes life knocks you down so fast, it feels like you've been cursed. I cannot begin to tell you how many times in my own life I feel that way.

Maybe it's a breakup you never saw coming.

Maybe it's betrayal from someone you trusted.

Maybe everything was going great--and then suddenly, it wasn't.

Maybe it's all of the above.

It feels like punishment. Like some kind of karma, or even divine wrath coming down on you.

You start replaying every move you made, every word you said, thinking, "What did I do wrong? Why is this happening to me?"

But here's something you need to remember:
Not every storm in your life is a punishment.

Sometimes, life simply shifts.

People leave.

Plans change.

Things break down.

It's not always about what you did; it's about what needs to happen to push you toward something better, or to teach you something you didn't know you needed.

Feeling broken doesn't mean you're broken.
It means you're human.

You're allowed to grieve, to feel confused, and to ask why.
But don't get stuck in the mindset that you're being punished.

You're not being destroyed, you're being redirected.

The same storm that feels like it's breaking you right now might one day be the reason you discover a stronger, wiser version of yourself.

This isn't the end. It's just part of your story.

Read Psalm 90:7

Sometimes when you read a verse in the Bible, it's good to look at the glass half full. Especially when you are facing difficult events, natural disasters, and overwhelming situations.
