Leadership Isn't Luck - It's a Responsibility (Inspired by Isaiah 40:23)

Being in charge isn't a reward, it's a responsibility. If life gives you the chance to lead, you better lead well. Because once you start abusing your power, your time at the top will eventually run out.

People confuse luck with leadership. They think just because they landed a position of power, they're untouchable. But nothing lasts forever. If you lead with pride, arrogance, or selfishness, it's only a matter of time before life humbles you and takes it all back.

There is a famous line from the SpiderMan movies: "With great power comes with great responsibility." While most people will remember that from SpiderMan it is actually rooted all the way back in the Bible.

"To whoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom they deposit much, of him will they ask more." -- Luke 12:48

Far too many people think leadership is a prize. No it's not! Leadership is a responsibility.

It amazes me to see how many leaders in my home country of Haiti walk around acting like they were "chosen" because they're special, smarter, or just lucky. They mess up so badly, they run the entire country into the ground--destroying everything in their path with pride, greed, and stupidity.

Here I am talking politics but leaders are not just the politicians. Leadership doesn't just apply to politicians or presidents.

It's no different than mismanaging your business, your career, your life or even your family matters.

If you're given something to lead--a team, a household, a company, or even your own life--and you keep making selfish, reckless decisions, your "luck" will run out too.

Bad leadership ruins everything it touches, whether it's a country or your personal finances.

Leadership isn't about the title. It's about what you do with what you've been trusted with.

Leadership is never about luck, it's about responsibility.

You know how the saying goes: "If you can't handle the heat stay out of the kitchen." President Harry Truman said that when he was still a Senator back in the 1940's.

Whether you're leading a company, a country, a team, or even your family, you're not just given authority to enjoy the perks. You're trusted to serve the people under your care.

And the second you start abusing that power, your downfall begins.

Look around--how many leaders, especially in Haiti, or anywhere else, were once respected but now can't even walk the streets without shame?

Why? Because they led with pride instead of humility.
They served themselves instead of their people.
They thought their position made them untouchable.

I like to refer to Haiti, because deep down inside of me I want it so bad for this beloved country of mine to finally have a chance that only a great leader can bring.

But here's the reality:
Life has a way of flipping the table.

If you've been blessed with influence, use it wisely.
Because no throne is permanent. No crown lasts forever.

History has shown this over and over again:
Leaders who fail to lead with honor eventually lose everything--respect, position, and even safety.

Leadership isn't a prize to show off, it's a test of character.

Lead well, or watch your time run out.
