Want Peace in Your Life? Help Those Around You (Inspired by Romans 14:19)
🔗 Share this on: Facebook TwitterIf you want peace, prosperity, and real happiness in life, start by helping those around you. When you make your community stronger, you're also building a safer, more peaceful space for yourself.
People talk about wanting peace, but peace doesn't just fall from the sky. It's built by people who look out for one another. If everyone in a neighborhood helps their neighbors, the whole community rises together.
If you want peace in your life, you can't ignore the people around you. If you don't look out for your neighbor, then who will look out for you in your time of need?
Live is not always just about personal success. It's about building something bigger than yourself, starting right where you are.
In your family.
Among your friends.
In your neighborhood.
With the people you see every day.
Too many people wait for politicians, foreign aid, or some miracle to "fix" their country or community. But that's not how peace works.
Real peace starts with you.
It starts with simple acts:
Helping a neighbor in need.
Looking out for the kids on your street.
Supporting a struggling family member.
Volunteering your time, skills, or resources.
In Haiti--and in every community struggling with division--the biggest problem isn't just politics or poverty. It's the fact that too many people stopped caring about each other.
We forgot that we each have a duty to think beyond ourselves--to do things that benefit others, not just our own pocket.
We somehow forgot the very words that are written on Haiti's national flag: "L'union fait la force."
Unity makes strength.
But somewhere along the way, we stopped believing it. We stopped living by it.
But here's something even more powerful:
Unity also makes peace.
If we keep living divided--each person only worried about their own survival--we all suffer in the end. And as long as we keep living like strangers instead of neighbors, things will only get worse.
It's like a virus. If one part of the community struggles, eventually it spreads to everyone.
But if we work together, lift each other up, and serve where we can, we all start to benefit.
Suddenly, peace doesn't seem so far away.
Don't wait for someone else to start.
Be the one who brings peace to your home, your street, your neighborhood.
Because when you lift others, you also lift yourself.
"L'union fait la force."
